9th Wonder Tells Purists, “Get A Check!”

I’ve never had a dull conversation with 9th Wonder. While most of our more spirited discussions about hip-hop have been off the record, I captured a glimpse of his more passionate side during an interview at the One Stop Shop Conference in Arizona.
With The Wonder Years due to come out this year I asked him about his growth as a producer into an executive, his transition from Fruity Loops to an MPC and the never-ending hardware vs. software debate in hip-hop production.
“With Fruity I had to sing the chop in my head. A lot of people don’t understand that…”
