Kidz In The Hall Producer Hospitalized, Manager Issues Statement
July 31, 2008
On July 26, 2008 Kidz In The Hall member Naledge was arrested outside of an Arizona nightclub, The Cherry Lounge and Pit. His partner, producer/DJ Double-O was assaulted by club bouncers and is in the hospital recovering from his injuries. Their manager, Dan Solomito, issued the following statement:
Double O from the hip hop group Kidz In The Hall was assaulted by several bouncers early Saturday morning, July 26, while inside a nightclub in Tempe, AZ following a Kidz In The Hall performance. Group member and friend Naledge, who did not witness the assault on Double O, was arrested outside of the club. Naledge’s attempt to get medical assistance for Double O was misconstrued as a hinderence to the investigation. Reports that no injuries were sustained are false as Double O was taken to the hospital with multiple injuries from the excessive force used by club security. On Sunday morning Double O underwent surgery for one of his injuries. He is still in the hospital, but in stable condition.
In the last 2 years, Kidz In The Hall have traveled to over 10 countries, have done 200+ shows and never before been involved in any altercation, big or small, with club or concert security, or police officers.

DJ Revolution Prepares “King of The Decks” LP
July 30, 2008
DJ Revolution said in a recent interview, “the connection between the DJ and the emcee has been severed. King of The Decks is my attempt at reconnecting it.”
DJ Revolution has spent 15 years perfecting that craft on the SP 1200. He’s currently behind the wheels of the longest running Hip Hop show in the history of commercial radio, “THE WORLD FAMOUS WAKE UP SHOW alongside Sway & King Tech.
Aside from his weekly duties on the show based out of LA on Power 106, and syndicated Worldwide, he has lent his now infamous scratch techniques to countless records and his production skills to many established artists. REV has also taken his skillz to the far corners as the globe and ripped clubs in locations such as Japan, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. He has also shared the stage DJ’ing for many artists including legends like Rakim all the way to current superstars such as Kanye West. Revolution has released two of his own Full length LP’s “In 12’s we trust/R2K” and one with his partners Sway & Tech , “This or That.
As DJ Revolution readies KING OF THE DECKS, in stores on September 16th, he elaborated further on the issues of the lack of communication between the MC and THE DJ stating that it “is one of the most obvious reasons Hip Hop has devolved so drastically over the years. Since MC’s in general decided to toss aside the DJ as an asset and integral part of their success from production to performance, the music has suffered tremendously. My goal is to re-introduce to the world what a DJ is. He or She is not just a celebrity, or someone who plays records, or makes funny sounds with turntables. He or she is all of that and more. I recruited some of the most legendary and also most talented up and coming artists to help me express all of this within the context of the music.

Producer Mr. 305 Claims He Leaked Rick Ross Photos
July 29, 2008
According to SOHH.com, Miami producer Mr 305 has claimed responsibility for leaking the photos of Rick Ross as a corrections officer. Allegedly he was asked to find them by Trick Daddy.
“I had custody of these things for a little minute since the first Ozone Awards they had. Trick and Ross were going through it then. Trick was getting offended that Ross was saying that he was the boss and the ‘Mayor of Miami’ because Trick started all that.”
Mr. 305, who says he grew up with Trick Daddy, claims that Trick asked him to obtain the photos saying, “I gotta straighten that nigga.”
“I did my lil research and I got the documents,” he said. Then Trick and Ross squashed their beef.

J*Davey “Distortion” To Static…
July 29, 2008
Brook D’Leau is a lucky son-of-a-gun. The L.A based producer gets to make soundbeds that the sexy Jack Davey lays her cyber-kinky lyrics in. The result of their sonic copulating, The Beauty In Distortion/Land of the Lost is ear candy of the sweetest variety with surprises in every note. By weaving influences from Prince to Talking heads into their hip-hop flavored punk swagger D’Leau may be responsible for the most inventive sound in recent times. Nodfactor took a moment to tap at his cerebral cortex to get some finer points on the delicate practice of aural sex.

These headphones will not make your beats sound like Dr. Dre’s but they’ll sound better than anything you’ve heard before.
Dre Day: Detox, Headphones and an Angry Daughter
July 23, 2008
There appears to be some convergence happening in the world of Andre Young. As previously reported on Nodfactor.com, Dre Dre has developed a pair of headphones with the Monster Cable company called “Beats By Dr. Dre.” The professional quality headsets are now available at Best Buy, the Apple Store and online at www.beatsbydre.com. The ear candy retails for $350. “They definitely get across what my music should sound like,” Dre told USA Today.
Dre has also set a tentative date for the release of Detox. Finally feeling like the CD is near completion he anticipates releasing in time for the holidays.
“I’m just now — over the last couple of months — starting to feel that it’s going to be right and it’s something I can be proud of, and everybody is going to love it,” says Dr. Dre. “In a perfect world, I’m shooting for a November or December release.”
But just when you think things are looking up there’s always some drama to deal with. A young lady that bares a striking resemblance to the Good Dr. claims to be his daughter and has released a video on Youtube called “Daddy’s Shadow.” In the clip she rhymes over what sounds like a Dr. Dre instrumental and claims that “You tell me you don’t want me to rap but you out here helping everybody else…”

Bloggin 4 Beats: The Way You Do It Remix
July 21, 2008
It’s no secret that I’ve been feeling a tad nostalgic lately. There are treasures in memories, helps you cope with change. I remember when I first met Te, Pooh and 9th when I was working at The Source. It was a good time. We’d just miraculously given an indie album, The Listening, 4 Mics during the most trying times at the mag and the guys came through to say what’s up. It was one thing I could look to and say “we scored one for hip-hop.” As journalists we take a beating despite our best intentions sometimes so those moments when the stars align are a beautiful thing.
Why Producers Kill Their Neighbors
July 17, 2008
The flood. After the fire it is the most feared and common source of pain for music collectors and producers. It’s even worse when it’s not a natural flood brought on by rain. QN5 producer/MC Tonedeff had his home studio ruined by an absent-minded…ok…STUPID…upstairs neighbor:
Water raped my studio in the rectum on Tuesday night. Sans KY.
In a twist only Stephen King himself would’ve been able to conjure up, one of my upstairs neighbors decided it would be a good idea to thaw out some meat with hot water in his kitchen sink while leaving the stopper in it…and then leave the apartment.
The results?
Basically, it rained on my entire fucking studio. Water came through the floorboards and basically made a bee-line through my ceiling and completely drenched my entire system, cords, monitors, speakers and worst of all – my external hard drives.
