Pop Wansel, one half of production duo Pop and Oak, recently gave an interview to TheUrbanDaily.com and, among other gems, talked about sampling his father Dexter Wansel and his favorite production of his.

“Do I sample my father’s music? Absolutely, all the time. Even if it’s just a hi-hat or a snare. The most notable one was when I did Diggy Simmon’s “Do It Like You” I sampled a song called “Theme From The Planets” from his “Life On Mars” album. It’s like one of my favorite songs. He loves when I sample his stuff because the check comes back to the crib.”
