I’ll be the first to admit that I was late to the Donuts party. I remember vividly arguing with Khrysis on AIM (yes, this was pre-Twitter) that I still liked Dilla’s beats on Welcome To Detroit better, which in hindsight was an apples to oranges comparison of the umpteenth power. But I felt like I felt.
Years later it’s hard not to recognize Donuts for the amazing work that it is, so much so that Stonesthrow hosted a video contest to create visuals to go with the various instrumentals from Dilla’s last work. Check out this hilarious interpretation of “Last Donut Of The Night.”
