The issue is not hardware vs. software. Issue is and will always be talent. I started on hardware and converted to software and I’m so glad I did. They both have there pros and cons, which is why it comes down to the person behind the tools. I personally prefer chopping samples in software because I can use my eyes and my ears to construct the beat. The bottomline is talent, if you aren’t creative with hardware you probably won’t be creative with software.
