A few days ago someone handed me a late pass on this nifty little MP3 gizmo that called itself a Pacemaker: A pocket-sized DJ system. I’ve a born skeptic about anything that tries to mimic what a real DJ does so I went scouring the web for other people’s thoughts on the $800 MP3 player/mixer.
For the particulars on the Pacemaker you can hit the Tonium website HERE, but the gist of it is that this PSP-sized player allows you to mix your MP3 collection via two-channels. A touch-screen display allows you to play, fast-forward, rewind, bend a track, change EQ values and gain levels. It boasts a 120GB hard drive and supports MP3, M4A (AAC-LC), AIFF, FLAC, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, and SND formats. Sounds pretty nifty so I found some vids of people who’ve actually used it.

I’ve got a couple of detectives on the case to get a unit to test. Stay tuned. If you have one or know someone who has one, let us know what you think.
